Rainier Beach Playfield

Rainier Beach Playfield is located in rainier Beach at 8802 Rainier Ave S, 98118. It is 10.9 acres in size.

Referred to as “Dunlap Canyon Playfield” in the Omsted Brothers’ 1908 Supplemental Report, this site was described as “level, open field and well suited for playfield purposes.” Had Olmsted’s recommendation for a Dunlap Canyon Parkway, which proposed connecting Lake Washington to Beacon Ave and eventually West Seattle, been realized, this playfield would have been immediately adjacent to that scenic connection route.
