History Cafe: A Park System for All – The Olmsted Vision
November 20, 2014 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
History Cafe is a program at the Museum of Industry sponsored by MOHAI, The Seattle Public Library, and HistoryLink.org. On the third Thursday of each month, history buffs gather in the Compass Cafe at MOHAI to join in a lively discussion about history. This month, FSOP president and historian Jennifer Ott will talk about the Seattle’s Olmsted park and boulevard system, what Olmsted intended for it, and how it was implemented.
Come to MOHAI at 6:30 p.m., grab a snack and a drink in the cafe, and join in the discussion.
History Cafe is a free program, but if you wish to visit the MOHAI galleries, you must pay museum admission (galleries close at 8 pm).
PLEASE NOTE: The footbridge in Lake Union Park is currently closed for maintenance by Seattle Parks and Recreation. Visitors to MOHAI who park in the AGC lot will need to walk south on Westlake Avenue N, past the bridge, and through the park to reach the museum. ADA parking is always available adjacent to the museum, accessible via the call box on Terry Avenue. See more at: http://www.mohai.org/#sthash.FHeGmJ3v.dpuf
