May 18th Walking Tour — SW Queen Anne Hill
May 18, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Join Us on May 18th for our Walking Tour in Kinnear Park and SW Queen Anne Hill
You may want to wear your “fitbit” for this one! We will be taking a few sets of stairs along our route through this neighborhood.
John Charles Olmsted had little influence on Kinnear Park itself — it was already a developed park when he arrived in Seattle in 1903 — but the park helped define Olmsted’s vision for a park and boulevard system extending throughout Seattle, including Queen Anne Hill. We will learn more about that vision and Olmsted’s plans for southwest Queen Anne as we wind through the neighborhood, also taking in Marshall Park, Betty Bowen’s house, Willcox Wall, a portion of Queen Anne Boulevard, and the impressive residential estate of C.H. Black, the grounds of which were designed by the Olmsted Brothers firm.
Please note the early start time. You may contact friends@seattleolmsted.org for more information about this tour.
