Support Seattle’s Olmsted Parks & Boulevards with your GiveBig Donation
May 4, 2021 - May 5, 2021

The Friends of Seattle’s Olmsted Parks (FSOP) is dedicated to preserving Seattle’s unique Olmsted landscape heritage that provides vital open space for everyone. The public’s need for these parks and boulevards this past year illustrates the need for all of us to support Seattle’s open spaces.
Your 2021 donation through the GiveBig Campaign will help us in our ongoing efforts to educate and advocate for over 80 Olmsted legacy parks and boulevards throughout Seattle.
This year, donations to FSOP will be matched up to a total of $3000.
For example, this past year we assisted Seattle Parks Dept. in its work to maintain and restore Cal Anderson Park’s landscapes; we promoted Be’er Sheva Park’s campaign to build a welcoming beach in the Rainier Beach neighborhood; and we provided input on tree replacement along Queen Anne Boulevard. Additional efforts were made to engage youth in parks through a partnership with Coyote Central.
In 2021 we will continue these efforts as we plan for the national celebration of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Frederick Law Olmsted. He is considered the father of American landscape architecture and is the inspiration for the Olmsted Brothers’ design of Seattle’s system of parks and boulevards.
