Volunteer Park Tree Walk – February 22

February 22, 2014 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Penny Kriese, FSOP board member and Seattle Tree Ambassador, will be leading a tree tour of Volunteer Park on Saturday, February 22nd. The FREE tour will start at 10:00 a.m. from the front of the Seattle Asian Art Museum, in the park. It will last two hours and cover a number of the trees included in the recently published Volunteer Park Tree Walk, which is available online from Seattle-reLeaf http://www.seattle.gov/trees/treewalks.htm, now known as Trees for Seattle.

Penny is an amazing tour guide. She was recently recognized by the Washington Community Forestry Council with an award for her stewardship efforts.

The Tree Ambassador program is a rich resource for information about trees in Seattle. There are a number of tree walks available online, including several of Olmsted Parks. They offer guided tours occasionally, so be sure to check their website for upcoming events.
